The Elective Language Teams from the Faculty of Education, Language, and Communication, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), in collaboration with Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, successfully organized a series of school holiday activities under the Community Outreach program. The program, titled “School Holiday Activities: Arabic, Japanese, Mandarin, and Iban Language Classes,” was held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Kuching, from 20 January 2025 (Monday), to 23 January 2025 (Thursday).
This program provided an exciting and interactive experience for children aged 10–12, allowing them to explore the richness of languages and cultures in a fun and engaging way. The young participants enjoyed beginner-level classes where they learned basic terms, such as colours, numbers, self-introductions, and more, in Arabic, Mandarin, Iban, and Japanese.
We hope this experience leaves the children with lasting memories and inspires them to practice the new words and phrases they have learned. Perhaps one day, they will reconnect with us at UNIMAS for more language adventures!
